General Terms
Normally, engagements are either per effort or annually.
Per effort tasks are charged at an agreed-upon rate per person, plus expenses. Invoices are submitted monthly, with payment due within 45 days. An initial retainer is required, with initial billing charged against it; early termination of the engagement forfeits any unbilled portion of the retainer.
Annual engagements (typically, advisory boards) are on an annual fee basis for a defined involvement, plus any expenses. Annual engagements are billed quarterly or pre-billed annually, as the client wishes.
It is possible to keep CSSCS on an annual retainer, a portion of which is applied against billing. Otherwise, it is first-come, first-served; note that availability of most associated personnel is limited.
Most CSSCS personnel are unable to participate in any legal action with the State of Indiana or its agencies as adverse parties.
